PCS System Improvements

In 2018 SKM began providing services to MWDSLS by first helping to modernize control networks for the antiquated DeviceNet equipment at Point of the Mountain Water Treatment Plant (POMWTP). Master planning was conducted to determine how to implement new Ethernet networks as well as upgrade existing Allen-Bradley PLC’s. Since that time SKM has been working with the District to upgrade all PLC’s to have new processors and updated programs. In 2021, SKM helped the District in upgrading their communications to remote sites such as turnouts or pump stations. The antiquated licensed radio system is being replaced by a modern high-speed system. In addition, SKM has helped the District with various small projects and improvements at both of their plants.
