Ogden City Water Treatment Plant

In 2014 Ogden City began the construction of a new membrane water treatment plant, replacing their antiquated gravity filter process. SKM upgraded their existing Allen-Bradley PLC5 and SLC500 with DH+ control system to a ControlLogix platform with Ethernet/IP. We also connected to four sites down Ogden Canyon utilizing fiber optic cabling. The existing and antiquated Wonderware InTouch system was replaced with a new HMI system utilizing Inductive Automation’s Ignition. We worked closely with the membrane manufacturer so that the final system would work seamlessly. We also upgraded their PLC hardware at their 25 remote water production and distribution sites and tied them into the new HMI software. In addition, we assisted the City in the implementation of a new water meter reading system. Since that time SKM has provided on-call support for the water system.
